I'm Julie Monteiro and I have always been an animal lover. At home I have 2 dogs, 3 rescue cats, a parrot (Oh and 2 human daughters). I had a successful career in the pharmaceutical industry for over 10 years and although my job was very rewarding, the grueling schedule was taking a toll on my physical health. With the support of my family, I decided to make some big changes to get healthy and start enjoying life. I have always been happiest when caring for animals, so I made the choice to start a business doing what I love and life has never been so good.

My name is Crystal Magrito. I'm one of Julie's daughters. I was raised around animals and have a natural passion for them. At home, I have a husband, 4 young children and my own menagerie of animals, including, 2 dogs and a leopard gecko. I'm excited to be working side by side with my mom, giving your pets all the love, care, and treats they deserve!

SENIOR & SPECIAL NEEDS PET EXPERT
I joined The Walking Dog as a Senior and Special Needs Expert. Following a recent breast cancer battle and 30 years in the pharmaceutical industry, I decided to change careers to revisit my childhood passion of caring for animals. My first client was a lovely old girl named Star (dog) that couldn’t walk. She came into my life just when I needed it. I was going through chemo treatments and neither of us were sleeping well. At 2am on chilly February mornings, Star and I would be making our way around the cul-de-sac. I wanted to ensure her last days were filled with love, brushes, cuddles and kisses. I look forward to offering that same support and care to your pet(s).
Jana Monteiro | ADMIN & PET SITTER
I’m the eldest of Julie’s daughters. We have always had pets and my mother taught us from an early age how to treat, care and train them. Caring for animals was built into us. Mom set the example every day by being the kind of person that stops the car to help a turtle cross the road, feeds a stray cat by the garage, nurses abandoned baby birds, and upholding our Family Thanksgiving Day tradition of watching “The National Dog Show”. My husband James and I have 2 dogs, and 2 kitties, and all but 1were rescues through Paw Prints Animal Rescue. While my specialties are on the administrative side of things, I will also occasionally help with a pet visit or daycare. I always do my best to make sure your pet is looked after and happy. Pets are family, after all.

DOGGY SOCIALIZER & PET SITTER
I am Julie’s niece, and I was raised with and around animals. I have so much love for them. At home, I have a little boy and 3 fur babies of my own. I usually help with doggy daycare and backyard patrol. I specialize in introducing new dogs to the pack, helping them with socialization, and building the confidence of those who suffer from anxiety.
Jarion Monteiro | WALKER & HIKER
Hi, I’m Jarion (pronouns good boy/atta boy) I’m in my mid 20s and in my free time I enjoy streaming movies and spending time in nature. Outdoors is my favorite thing about North Carolina which has been my home for over ten years. Some of my favorite parks to hike so far are Brookhaven Nature Park, Umstead Trail, Harris lake County Park and any Mountains to Sea trails. I hope to hike the Appalachian trails before I’m 30! Like most, during the pandemic I picked up a new skill, instead of bread making, I took up carpentry. Currently I am a renter and unable to have my own pets to love and hug. Luckily, my Aunt Julie lets me work with her, teaching commands, watching over doggy-daycare, and playing along with her pack. I love dogs of all shapes and sizes and when your dog is with me, I will love them like my own.
